art with a story - rules

DEADLINE: OCTOBER 24, 2010 The exhibition and voting process of this show will take place entirely online. The winning pieces will be displayed in the Artwork Network Showroom. Other top choices will be showcased in a prominent location on the Artwork Network Website. "ART WITH A STORY" THEME: We often encounter artwork that makes us stop and wonder – what does this mean? What was the artist thinking, what were they feeling? With some art it’s obvious what the motivations were, but with others, the viewer is only left to guess. With Artwork Network’s 2010 Online Juried Show, “Art With a Story”, we want you to let us in on the secret. Submit your piece of artwork, and along with it, give us a story. Written (up to 500 words) or verbal (up to 2 min video), now’s the opportunity to let the world pick apart the layers of the visual mystery you’ve created. We don’t care what it’s about: you, your dog, the future of the world. Each piece will be showcased in an online gallery, where thousands of regular people AND a jury of art critics will vote on the artwork and the story they like best. The winners will be showcased in the Artwork Network gallery in Denver, CO during the month of January. Winners will also receive a FREE one year Basic Artist Membership with Artwork Network. All artistic mediums will be accepted but will be judged based on the digital representation of the work and the related story.
