ABOUT THE ARTIST

Lorena Analia Lopez was born in Cordoba, Argentina in 1979. Currently, she is mother of one 3 year old and one year old triplets living in Denver, Colorado. She has lived for the past 12 years in the USA. During these past years, she also has visited more than 36 countries, where she has left her artwork along the path.  Most recently she has being working on her monoprints, a technique developed by Lorena Lopez based on her combined skills of drawing, painting and printmaking. These prints are pressed on paper by using acrylic paint and a roller.  As a result, the image that is printed on the paper under the pressure of the roller is the final artwork. Only one print can be obtained from the original drawing. Therefore, each piece artwork is one of a kind.

Lorena Lopez, creator of Arte LOLO felt as an artist, since she was a child, her desire for drawing and painting always lived in her blood. She studied art at the National University of Cordoba. Later, she finished her studies in Visual Arts at the University of Houston in Texas. Traveling thru the world, She has presented her artwork, and she always left a smile with the public that has had a chance to observe and admire her work.

Her paintings give life to grotesque characters. Her paintings are colorful, and she works with different materials (including 3D mix media). Some of her paintings become puzzles, her paintings contain a lot of symbolism with a touch of surrealism . Some of her paintings travel around the world by bike or backpack. The purpose of this idea is to give paintings to different people without involving money in the process of giving away the piece of art. Intentionally, the paintings become Puzzles that unite countries and continents.

Lorena Lopez is also a sculptor. Her sculptures are based in pieces that can be assembled one with each other. These sculptures are comparable to a Lego toy, because these sculptures can be constructed or can be deconstructed at the same time. The artist works with different materials in her sculptures such as: wood, clay, metal, and stone.
