July, 2009 installation: Boulder City, Nevada
Puddler's Break is a public art sculpture for the city of Boulder City, Nevada. The sculpture honors the workers of Hoover Dam, in particular, the "puddler's" whose job it was to smooth out each layer of concrete as the dam was being built. It brings light onto the incorrect assumption that workers were buried alive during the building of the dam in the 1930's. The sculpture weighs 1 1/2 tons and took me 9 months of work.
