About the Artist
Mary is traveling to teach her "Mariahsachin" technique to all who want to grow in spirit and loosen their painting style.
Mary Leonard teaches and paints the Mariahsachin technique with textured acrylic, vivid color and pure raw emotion that wants to take you on a journey to your soul. It does not matter whether you are meditating into them, or personally creating one. They talk to you. They guide you. Mary is now responding to requests to demonstrate her "Mariahsachin" technique and to appear as a motivational speaker. For years she has been performing worship paintings at churches along the Front Range of Colorado. Completion of her series "Abstraction of the Soul" is a current focus of Mary’s.
Mary sold her first painting at the age of twelve and had her first one-woman show at thirteen. She has shown in many art shows nationally, winning Best in Shows, First Places and other awards and honors through the years. Her work has shown in galleries in Ohio, Colorado, and Washington as well as museums, most recently, in Japan twice.
Mary’s “God’s Little Princess” eBook, hardback book and prints are now available. Mary Leonard plans to continue publishing books, travel with her art and teaching around the world. Her style is unusually simple and profoundly complex abstracts of the unknown yet known.
Her first piece was sold in 1969 to a hospital collection. The Town of Parker has a piece "The Spa" in their permanent town collection, a donation from the world famous artist Tadashi Hayakawa. Hospitals along the Colorado Front Range, most recent is Porter Hospital in Denver “Healing”. She has had two pieces shown in the "Nagasaki Peace Museum" in Japan. Mary has shown in a Contemporary Art Museum in Fort Collins, Colorado including being privileged to demonstrate her Mariahsachin style for them in town prior to the exhibit. She had two exhibits, "Abstraction of the Soul" and "Seeing with the Inner Eye" in the Denver Art District. Currently, the book “God’s Little Princess” is her focus. Mary is traveling the USA teaching and signing her new book with all painting included done by her.
Mary was honored to receive an art grant to create a competition within the E bey's Landing National Historical Reserve resulting in 18 sculpture gardens in downtown Coupeville, Washington.
Her participation in sharing the art world with community has been a blessing to Mary. Curating shows, judging many different venues, and chairing the Castle Rock Art Commission with the purchase of almost 90,000.00 dollars of public art displayed in Castle Rock, Colorado, are a few of the ways she has been involved in community art.
